What to Expect
Important note:
Not every patient with dark circles or under-eye hollowing is an appropriate candidate for tear trough filler. Patients with significant skin laxity, very thin skin, chronic puffiness, or pigmentation-based dark circles may not get the result they expect from filler alone. Quynh assesses candidacy honestly at consultation and will advise if a different approach is more appropriate.
Session:
30 to 45 minutes including numbing. Cannula technique. Bruising is possible and may take 1 to 2 weeks to fully resolve. This is normal for this area.
Results:
Full settled result at 2 weeks. Longevity 9 to 18 months.
EXPECTATIONS AND FIT
A strong fit for patients who:
- Have a visible hollow or groove beneath the eye that creates a shadowed or tired appearance
- Have tried concealer and found it does not adequately address the depth or darkness
- Are also considering cheek filler, as the two areas are structurally connected
This may not be the right approach if:
- Your dark circles are primarily pigmentation-based rather than structural. Quynh will assess at consultation and advise on the right treatment combination.
You have significant under-eye puffiness or bags. Filler in this case can worsen the appearance. Quynh will advise honestly. - You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
